Psychedelic Seminars is an educational conversation series deepening awareness of the benefits, risks, and complexities of psychedelics.

In parallel to the new wave of research from MAPS to Johns Hopkins, we progress the cultural understanding through discussions with scientists, therapists, healers, authors, activists, and entertainers.

We explore intersections with other cutting edge subjects through a psychedelic lens.

As psychedelics enter the mainstream, we cultivate the necessary critical thinking and community building, bringing together thousands in person and online.

Psychedelic Seminars was founded by Mike Margolies in Baltimore in 2015 to build community for open and honest conversations about psychedelics.

Team

Mike Margolies

Mike Margolies is the Founder and Director of Psychedelic Seminars. Mike is a psychedelic community catalyst and conversation creator. Mike is Co-Founder and Director of Mycelia, a project designed to spark and deepen connections and trust among psychedelic leaders. He started the Baltimore Psychedelic Society and has sparked and mentored similar groups around the world from San Francisco to DC to Portugal. Mike is Co-Founder and Co-Director of the Global Psychedelic Society, a decentralized network connecting the leaders of these communities to share information and resources. He has started and contributed to a number of other projects as an event and media producer, journalist, connector, and advisor. Mike is Co-Founder of the CryptoPsychedelic Summit and former Co-Director of Psymposia.

Tunuviel Luv

Tunuviel Luv is an online community facilitator with Psychedelic Seminars. She sees strong, diverse and interdependent communities as a key component to our collective liberation. Coming from the world of professional performing arts she values wild imagination and art creation in every endeavor. She holds a special interest in lifting the voices of mothers in art, movement and society as a whole and has termed her chosen role “mothering the movement." She welcomes you to join in the co-creation of this community.

Ayize Jama-Everett

Ayize Jama-Everett holds three Master’s degrees: Divinity, Psychology, and in Fine Arts, Writing. He blends these degrees in all his work, often identifying as a guerilla theologian, a community-based therapist, and an afro-futurist in the same breath. He’s taught at the graduate, undergraduate, and high school levels for over twenty years in subjects as diverse as the history of substance use in the United States, the history of Sacred Plant medicines in the Maghreb, the religious roots of political violence from Ireland to the Middle east, educational arts pedagogy, and Afrofuturism. He’s the author of three novels and one graphic novel. His shorter works can be found in the LA Review of Books, The Believer, and Racebaitr. Ayize is an adjunct professor at Star King School for the ministry. He is a Board member of the Tupac Amaru Shakur Foundation, leading their initiative to look at the role of psychedelics in the mental health of People of color and poor people. He also serves on the Board of Psychedelics Today.

Tessa Vita

Tessa Vita is a Breakout Facilitator for Psychedelic Seminars. She wears many hats across the worlds of anti-oppression political organizing, mental health, and psychedelic community building and access. She is a leadership team member and event producer with the Graduate Student Association for Psychedelic Studies while pursuing a degree in Counseling Psychology at Pacifica Graduate Institute. She is also a trainer, strategist, and campaigner supporting activists combatting white nationalism and fighting for immigration and criminal justice reform across the United States. She does not see these bodies of work as separate.

Kat Ebert

Kat Ebert is the Chief Minion at Psychedelic Seminars, and is graduating in May from Michigan State University (MSU) with a BS in Neuroscience and a Pharmacology & Toxicology minor. Kat plans to attend graduate school through an MD/PhD program, with the hopes of conducting clinical psychedelic research, and practicing as an Addiction Psychiatrist. She is a community organizer, and currently serves as the Vice Chair of the Board of Directors at Students for Sensible Drug Policy (SSDP), as well as the leaving President of the MSU chapter. She currently researches ketamine-induced cystitis on campus and hopes to one day operate her own holistic healing center that embraces the healing properties of psychedelic medicine.
